Dear Parishoners,
It is good to be back with you all and I am very grateful to Fr Paul, to Deacons Gerry and Pat, to John Paul, to Rhona and to all who kept things running so well in the parish while I was away. I am also grateful to all the visiting priests who helped to make sure that we were able to cover all the services at our two churches. I am fully rested and back to normal (if I was ever normal in the first place!!). I had a great rest with my family and then with my two priest friends Frs Michael and Dominic. Much to Fr Paul’s disappointment we didn’t enter the Tour de France but we did do a lot of cycling. Thanks for all your kind words and prayers for me.
As you know the Pope’s Mass will now be in Birmingham. It is important that we sign up this weekend if we would like to go. Please use the form at the back of the church and place it in the box provided. If there are any [people who want to help as stewards, medical helpers, First Aiders, nurses or doctors then please collect a  form from the sacristy after any of the Masses over the weekend. People will need to be fairly fit as it will be a long day.
On the first Sunday of the month we will be praying Evening Prayer of the Church and this will start on Sunday, 1 August at 5.30pm. During the winter months we’ll start at 4.30pm.
